Odyssey Events
Hi guys!
I hope everyone’s finals are going marvelously! I know that I am so ready to be done and to be sitting in front of the tv bingeing on good television and crossing movies off of my must see list. I cannot wait.
Here is my list of FYOS events that I have been to:
1) The short film movie festival at Cine.
2) My dad’s recital ( I already wrote about this)
3) Throughout the...

Meep, HELP!
Hey Erin! I went to reread your short on elc, and it was not there! I was wondering if you could post it there so I could give it a solid critique?
ernxxx:
Make this better, please.
Daniel's Film
Hello Daniel!
Your short is off to a good start! It was funny at times and touching at others. The inclusion of your car was genius. I couldn’t have thought of a better car myself.
There were a few things that could be done slightly differently to add more realism to your story. I felt as though the conversation between the old man and Riley was not as profound as it could have been. I don’t...
Critique my screenplay!
Hello Tabitha! I thought that your short was a fresh take on subject that could be over used. From the creativity standpoint, you did a fantastic job in thinking of an interesting story line. There were a few things throughout your script that I thought could have been done differently. I adored how much you could see that the husband genuinely loved Judy, but I felt as if the dialogue was a...
Critiques
Hi guys,
I am pretty sure that you are supposed to reblog this with your critiques.
but that might not be correct.
I am a little dense when it comes to tumblr.
But, anyways, thank you for your critiques and ideas!

FYOS event
This past Wednesday, I went to my father’s recital.
It was marvelous.
I was blown away by a song called “Send in the Clowns” from A Little Night Music. It was so beautiful and heart breaking.
(here is a barbra cover if any one is interested)
It is always incredibly refreshing to see such incredible talent. Although growing up in a house with inspiring musical talent, I...
Top 5
This is really difficult decision and I do not think I can narrow it down to just a top one, so here are my five favorite shorts in no specific order
1) Cash Back
2) The Last Farm
3) The Incident
4) Morning Fall
5) The Crush
and I cannot forget The Legend of Beaver Dam. That film has just really stuck with me because I just loved it that much.
also, honorable mention to Six Shooter. I...
The Incident
The Incident is an incredible breathtaking short with such emotional baggage, beautiful cinematography and fascinating acting. I was left stewing the traumatic details of this film well after is ended, and, it is safe to say, will think about it more tomorrow as the day goes on. I found myself thinking throughout the entire film what I would do if that situation occurred to me and I...
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
You guys, the winners were announced!
I am quite disappointed. I do not think that David and Goliath deserved first. But there are always films some will like more than others. My heart still goes strong for Legend of Beaver Dam.
Anyways, I had a blast at this film festival. I adored the experience completely.
I will see you all Wednesday!

For Our Man by Kazuo Ohno
I did not enjoy this short. In fact, I remember it being said that we were going to be given a horrible short and would have to detect it, and half way through this short I would have bet money that this was it. But after finishing it, I just feel uncertain and a little uneasy. I struggled focusing. I may have even missed pertinent details, but I have no desire to...

Hi guys! there is a short film festival at cine this weekend!
Anyone interested?
Sooner or Later
Time travel is fascinating on all levels. Although it intrigues me and immediately draws my intention, I am often left confused by the infinite possibilities of time travel itself. It makes me feel small, awkward and unknowing of all that the universe has to offer. It is trippy and that could very much be a connection to the drug usage apparent in the film.
So as I think about...
Morning Fall
Edward McGinty
This short film was heart wrenchingly sad. My heart has shattered into a billion tiny pieces and aches to be put back together with the understanding of this short. I watched it various times and each time, the piercing gaze of the woman makes me shudder.
Despite the fact that I would love to claim “I wasn’t expecting this!” or “how was the viewer supposed to know?”,...
No freaking way! I watched this for my Spanish class too and was super confused! It is really well made though, and I contemplated showing it here. You just beat me to it!

Nina que espera or The Girl That Waits/Hopes
I had to watch this short film for Spanish this week and I thought it would be worth posting. The twist wasn’t exactly what I expected, although I did...
“Get That Number”
Stephen Leeds
This short was hilarious and sweet. It was corny at times, but cheese this funny and heartwarming is marvelous.
After watching two times, I finally connected the two films for this week: both contain unobtainable women who, through a series of unfortunate events, become obtainable and unobtainable once more. This film, however, proved to be much...
The Crush
By Michael Creagh
I have had my fare share of teacher crushes. There was Mr. Palmour: the dreamy nerd who listened to great music and wore the cutest clothes. Then there was Mr. Rosch: the cynical history connoisseur who muttered under-the-breath perverted jokes and could babble about my cultural interests for hours. Indeed, I was older when these crushes bloomed so I was aware of the...

I agree with many of the things you said!
I really would like to add on to your idea about the ending. It was frustrating to see the family unite after so much trauma and damage was done within a fifteen minute time frame. i think that they were afraid that the truth would come out of Zen. They just wanted to appear as the normal, cookie cutter family, and, as they all joined together outside,...
I thoroughly enjoyed this analysis of the short. I understand how the woman related to the man because he was verbalizing what she is thinking, yet I never thought that she may find his past relationships relatable as well. She may have had experienced similar things or even had her own stories that seemed just as heartbreaking as the man’s.
Also, I really appreciate your interpretation of...
